How long has GridSmart™ been in the field?
Aldis began field trials of the GridSmart™ system in July 2008 and the product was introduced in December 2008. The systems are deployed in a variety of intersection configurations and in a wide range of climates.
How does GridSmart™ see cars at night?
A GridSmart™ camera can see vehicles in the dark as a human eye can, by tracking headlights. Should a car be traveling without its headlights on, a GridSmart™ camera will have a difficult time seeing it, as will the human eye.
Where do you mount the GridSmart™ camera?
The optimum mounting position for the GridSmart™ system is near the center of the intersection. Depending on the intersection configuration, the GridSmart™ camera can be mounted at a corner of the intersection.
How long does installation take?
Installation is fast usually taking less than three hours to complete compared to two days for other video systems.
